What is the Maintenance cost I need to prepare?
International students planning to apply for a UK Student Visa will have to show that you have enough money to pay for living expenses. This includes the cost of accommodation, food, entertainment, etc.. and the outstanding amount of your first-year tuition fees (Known as maintenance funds). You can either deposit the required amount in your bank account or you can also use the money available in your parents or legal guardians’ account. You cannot use a bank account from other relatives other than your parents.
How Much Money You Need Show as Your Maintenance Funds
The maintenance funds calculator below will help you determine, how much money you will need to show in your bank account as your maintenance funds before you apply for your student visa (each month you will have to show £1334 if your university is in inner London and £1023 if your university is outside of London. Use the calculator below to calculate your maintenance funds. You will also need to show maintenance funds for all your dependents (i.e wife, spouse) if they will be coming to the UK with you.
